Practice Philosophy

Acupuncture is my true and genuine passion and has taken many years to master. And now being in practice for over 15 years, I am fully committed to providing the best possible care that is based on science but respects the foundations; is up to date on all modern developments; and is inclusive of all other treatment options besides acupuncture.
My practice philosophy is based on the two fundamental principles:

Acupuncture is my true and genuine passion and took many years to learn. And now being in practice for over 15 years, I am fully committed to providing the best possible care that is based on science but respects the foundations; is up to date on all modern developments; and is inclusive of all other treatment options besides acupuncture.
My practice philosophy is based on the two fundamental principles:
Minimize harm
Start treating the condition with a least invasive approach that is high in effectiveness and minimal in side effects. If that approach does not provide an adequate relief, then move on to other possibly more invasive methods. In fact, the American Pain Society and American College of Physicians has issued new guidelines that recommend acupuncture as the first line of care.
In addition, the Opiod Crisis has sparked a new commitment among medical professionals to adopt the same philosophy.
Collaborate
The conditions we treat are often complex and therefore require a team of different medical specialists to be able to address its all facets. The collaborative approach provides the most well-rounded level of care. I closely communicate with doctors and other medical providers of my patients. In addition, I will always be able to refer you out to a medical professional if needed.
When I first chose acupuncture as my profession many years ago, very little was known in the West about what it is and what it does. Back then, acupuncture was mostly practiced in the basements of Chinatown or people’s private offices and homes. However, in the last 15 years a major shift has occurred. As acupuncture was studied and explained in scientific terms, the medical community took note of it. As evidence showed that acupuncture was effective in treating many conditions, it made its way into most prominent medical establishments in the US.

New York City offers the most diverse, knowledgeable, and progressive medical community and I am lucky to be a part of it. Most patients find me because their doctor or hospital recommended acupuncture to them. And in fact, many healthcare providers use acupuncture as part of their wellness or rehab routine.

It is important to know that there are many different styles of acupuncture. Seek out someone who listens to your concerns and whose approach is well fitted for your condition.
